How did they pay for gas without a card.

Some people have received miles for purchases and the points weren't deducted even after the item was returned. It is very rare but it happens. I guess when returning the money after a dispute a similar thing can happen.

Once at the Palisades's Sunoco, they ran out of power right after I had filled up and they carbon copied my card and the charge took place.

What merchants still keep carbon CC thingies lying around?

Maybe it's because they often have power outages at that merchant, hmmm.

They actually put a piece of paper from the receipt roll over the card and rubbed it against the card with a pen.

 yes & no

will the 1200 miles be deducted from yur AA acct, not likely.

Will yur Citi AA acct have a neg debit of 1200 most likely, what this means is if on yur next statement you were suppose to have gotten 200 miles for $200 of charges you will get 0 miles and it will stay that way till you have $1200 of new charges to make up for the deficit of the 1200 miles from the refunded $1200
now what if you have no other charges and just a -1200 on your acct and then CX the acct, most likely they wont go and take it back from AA. But I wouldnt CX my CC over 1200 miles maybe 120000 but then again Im sure for that amount they will take tem back from AA

Aleph, visiting prisons.
Most of the towns don't even have their hotels on priceline so we have to pay more then we'd like too...
