Garment Bag as Carry On
« on: August 29, 2013, 12:30:08 AM »
Does anyone have any experience taking a garment bag onto a flight, particularly an Elal flight?

On an Air France flight from Montreal to London, my wife was able to take a garment bag in addition to her small suitcase. The stewardess hung it up in a closet near the cabin.
I'm wondering if Elal would do similar. Any experience?

Can you elaborate? On Elal? How thick were your bags? Where did you store them - overhead?

I have done it many times, Most airlines allow for a carry-on in additional to a Personal item which usually covers laptop, pillow, coat etc - but technically covers a normal sized garment bag.

Worst case, if you board last - FC wont be bothered making you gate-check it and will hang it in upper class wardrobe.

As a last ditch effort, try bringing along a spare large department store bag...that can work too.
