My view on the US tickets, together with their move to T8 with AA, and AA started charging YQ on award tickets, then dating that they are only charging on revenue tickets (which they charged till now), US never charged YQ (on rev tickets), and they alligned their tickets to add YQ, lowered first the fare, forgot to add the YQ...

He seems to have an insight with respect to the events of today, but I'm just not sure what that insight may be.

Will try to elaborate my post.

1) US & AA are in a merger process, DOJ has it on review

2) yesterday night, PANYNJ tweeted that US is moving to T8 (JFK) "today in the morning", they just did it it so fast, that you almost missed a beat.

3) Today AA charged YQ on awards, then they sorted out saying that they "are starting" to charge YQ only on revenue tickets which wasn't charged till now??
(Nice to see the bloggers just accepting this statement)

4) US doesn't have YQ even on revenue fares

So my view that US tried to add a YQ line to their fares, and their IT people have the same amount of screws as their phone reps, so I booked 10 tickets which I'm canceling because I can't go anyway, but just to say I bought cheap tickets.....

Haha, I wasn't going to say anything fearing I may be the only one...

In any event, at least to point #3, that's actually what happened... Apparently the system did not impose YQ on revenue fares, and had to be manually done by the reps. So they've now fixed that.

A $1000 fare can be $1000, or it can be $600 plus $400 YQ. US was trying to update their systems to allow for YQ (to be more like AA), so they were switching their fares to lower fares and adding YQ to compensate; and in this case, forgot to add the YQ once they lowered the fare.
