My wife and I have been upgraded for our honeymoon with a bit of sweet talking.

On the airplane in LGA. there was extra space on a slightly earlier flight at the next gate. Took it. Now, it's a longer than 50 minutes connection...

And yeah, the later 7:15 flight is delayed 10 minutes. So it would have only been a 40-minute connection...

The original flight is delayed 20 minutes.

I called US Airways to cancel, and they told me it is a non-refundable ticked and they cant refund it.

I called again, and they said they see there was a schedule change but Orbitz accepted it, I spoke with a supervisor as well.

Any ideas how to cancel it? (i tried to explain them it would be cheaper for them...)

My flight tomorrow is scheduled to be 1hr40min, I don't know why but even with a 20 minute delay it should not take that long. Thanks for confirming it is only 35 minutes.
please relate your experience checking in in LGA, how long did it take (how long before flight did you arrive)
and did you have to change terminals and if so was it walkable or did you need to take a bus ?

I may not be a mathematician, but it'd seem to me that, in addition to finding a person(s) to split it with, at $75 for a one way rental, it'd take like 6+ people for it to make sense.

do you have a direct flight to TLV or are you connecting with ElAl in Europe somewhere ?

I hear that ElAl will not take connecting flights baggage if passenger is not on the flight.

Interesting that they saw a scan of one of my suitcases in PHL already. Presumably came on an earlier flight, but no scan at all on my other suitcase. Weird. Any explanation? Checked in at the same time. Departure from the gate was on the dot at 9:10.

In lga they kept saying we will make it. On the plane the flight attendant said will not make it. When we got off they had boarding passes for us for the next day. We needed to wait for our carry on bags, because they took them from everyone before boarding.

In Philly I tried to get them to reroute us but they said its too late. No flights leave internationally in morning only afternoons

So tell them to fly you to EWR tomorrow morning and put you on the 1:15pm LY or 3:50pm UA flight.
Actually insist on it.  No reason to lose more of your time in TLV.

Since we were traveling with 4 little kids they out us up in a hotel. They said the flight delay was not their fault. It was a govt issue. In lga they closed a runway and the incoming flight had to circle 3X.
I rented a mini can from Avis for $59. Thinking I will drive home to NY and sleep in my own bed, but we were all to tired to drive 2hrs now at 11pm.   

I guess we will do a day of touring in Philly.
