3x Amex Gold when booking through Orbitz?

I purchased US Airways tickets to Israel through Orbitz using my Amex business gold to earn 3x points.

The charges posted today as Orbitz charges (not US Airways charges), and no bonus points (which usually post immediately unlike base points).

Any clarification on the matter?

Bonus points like these I believe post when the base points post, sign-up bonus are the ones that post earlier.

in my experience, bonus points (both for airline and gas purchases) post immediately.

The new Business Gold Rewards Amex applications state: "3x on airfare purchased directly from airlines". Have a look, can that be the reason?

I assume that this is the reason. However previously Dan wrote that booking on Orbitz is considered directly from the airline. Looks like this is no longer the case.

Did anybody else use Amex Business Gold to book a ticket on Orbitz recently?

Worked for me with AA three months ago, could have changed since though.
Also mine was domestic.

I'm no travel agent, but maybe it's something to do with them not making a commission on domestic, and making one on international, that determines whether it gets booked through them or the actual airline.

I booked 5 US airways tickets on Orbitz and the bonus miles have already posted:

Eventually the bonus points posted for me too, a few days after the transaction.

Conclusion: Dan is always right!

I just spoke to them regarding other tickets. They told me as long as it comes up as travel u will get the bonus points. Meaning it doesn't have to be directly from the carrier. It can be even from a TA. I haven't even string charged baggage insurance fees. I asked him why he said the same reason why ur not getting the bonus points, bec its not registering as flights jut as "travel". He gave me 6k points for the 3k flights i booked. But the recent orbitz tickets already got charged 10$ for the baggage.
