According to Dan: The nights post within a week of spending, regardless of statement close.
They expire 12-13 months from posting and can typically be extended by 1 more month by emailing Hyatt.

Best offer out there for now: (Thanks DoGo!)
Go to Hyatt.com make a reservation, click book, and before cc page you will see offer for card with the 2 free nights PLUS $50 statement credit. Looks something like this

Anniversary nights appear in account before annual fee posts.

The rumor when they announced this card was that they were going to offer a signup bonus, plus a free FFN every year just for having the card, plus a number of suite upgrades that could even be used on award stays, plus a loyalty bonus of 1-2K points for every stay you've made at Hyatt over the past 2 years.

Here's hoping at least some of those stuff some true!

It would've been nice of a company with such amazing customer relations, picked a bank that had a similar reputation.

If you look at it from their perspective, maybe companies pick chase because they screen so many people out including those who sign up just for the sign up bonuses. I cant stand the fact that amex and others will approve someone who has credit while chase will deny you because you got a card from them within 6 months (although i saw dan wrote somewhere that they may have stopped that)

They all have bad reputations.
Who is better? AMEX? Citi? Barclay?
Personally I'm happy with Chase-I find them to be the easiest churn these days.

I find AMEX much easier to deal with. As of now I've dealt with Citi and Barclay only minimally.

It just pisses me off that I got black listed because of their error. Oh well, I guess that's what wives are for.

AMEX is notorious for giving people exactly 5 days to send over all of their tax forms or be shut down...not exactly the hallmark of a customer friendly company.

They probably dont want to give you to much time to make things up or figure a way out (in the event that their suspicions are correct)

I see the Chase Hyatt credit card says 2 free nights anywhere.....Does that mean if I'm stopping over in Zurich I can stay at the Grand Hyatt for a few nights? Isn't that like a $700 a night hotel?

2 hyatt suite nights question
« Reply #17 on: December 09, 2010, 02:59:57 AM »
so, as a diamond member, ive been getting emails from hyatt with the offer of opening the cc for two nights in a suite. the question is, as im slated to lose my diamond status at the end of feb, if i were to open the card before and get the suite credits, would i be able to still get the suite once my status reverts back to regular member?

I tried asking that to the Hyatt rep on FT and didn't get a response.
You can try emailing Hyatt CS and see what they say.

The T & Cs in my e-mail included the following note:
"Receive two nights – To be eligible for this bonus offer, you must be an existing Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond member at the time of application. You will qualify for and receive two Hyatt Gold Passport® Suite Upgrade Free Night Awards after your first use of the card. First use includes purchases, balance transfers, or any checks that are used to access your account, and excludes cash advances. Suite Upgrade Free Night Awards are valid at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts for use within one year from date of issuance. Suites are not available at all Hyatt locations. Award may not be used with all suite types. Awards are not transferable. After qualifying, please allow 10 days for your Suite Upgrade Free Night Awards to post to your Hyatt Gold Passport account. For complete terms and conditions, see goldpassport.com. Chase is not responsible for offer fulfillment. Annual fee applies. For pricing details, please see Pricing & Terms.

(Emphasis added)
I would keep this and use it as evidence that the offer is available as long as you were a diamond when you applied. The counter argument is that its necessary to be a diamond member not only when you want to redeem it, but also, when you apply for the card.
