According to Dan: The nights post within a week of spending, regardless of statement close.
They expire 12-13 months from posting and can typically be extended by 1 more month by emailing Hyatt.

Best offer out there for now: (Thanks DoGo!)
Go to Hyatt.com make a reservation, click book, and before cc page you will see offer for card with the 2 free nights PLUS $50 statement credit. Looks something like this

Anniversary nights appear in account before annual fee posts.

What's the minimum CL for the Hyatt card?

If had to guess.... to get approved it would need to be 5k....

Once its approved is a different story....

Will the anniversary night post once the AF hits or do you have to pay the AF first?

Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

We are planning a trip to Hawaii (Thanks DDF) and I was thinking of both my husband and I applying for the Chase Hyatt card which gives 2 free nights for spending $1K in three months. Then we would have 4 total nights. It says ANY hotel but it doesn't mention anything about blackout dates or award limits. Has anyone had a problem using the free nights? Anything I should know?

My brother had a problem at PHP, they said the dates he wanted were not available.
I'm pretty sure there are no "blackout dates" but there are definitely days when the available award rooms are already booked.

Hi, approved for the card and met threshold before first statement closed. I want to close the card. Are the free nights tied to my Hyatt number? So if I close the CC I can still get the nights right? Please advise.

If you did the $50 credit  need to keep open till credit posts -- since no fee why the hurry to close?-- if close the card and nites posted on Hyatt  in past you keep the nites

Good point. But the 50$ credit did post actually. The rush is I don't want the card anymore, I want a different one. As long as it's open it's holding a "valuable spot" in chase where I could have different card/s.

MY 2 CENTS WORTH

not sure i understand  "valuable spot" --- chase looks at many things when the give out c.c.-- sure they say to many cards open with chase or to many cards this year etc -- I do not think it helps to cncl a chase card when it is so new as it will not make the difference in getting a new chase  card ( I think it can hurt )--they can see very easily that you just got a card and cncld in a few days and now you  want a new card--I also think better off leaving open Hyatt and apply for that "other" card and if need be --offer up to close Hyatt to get new cc  and just tell them opened in error or what ever u can come up with --

fyi- have 13 chase cards open and keep rotating and always let them exchange for a new cc-- I have found when they see someone like me with that  many cards the analysis is less afraid to approve since so many b4 him approved me

I'm going for an instant approval. Don't wanna do recon. System sees that I don't have many open cards with them and lots of credit to give me, BAM instant approval. If I already got the bonus what is the point of keeping the card open? I see no benefit.

The Hyatt CC does claw back at points if you returned an item.

Still mulling over whether to close this card. On my two free nights will having this card give me some sort of status to upgrade the room?  Planning to go to the Paris Hyatt.

There are a few Paris Hyatts. But I imagine we can all guess which one. ;)

I, as well as others, were upgraded to a "Deluxe" room, which supposedly is just a bit of a larger room. I heard that the standard room is kinda small (as are most standard rooms in busy cities), so the Deluxe room was kinda nice because it was larger than even an average hotel room. I also mentioned it was my honeymoon, so  I don't know if that's why I got the upgrade or because I had the card open with the Plat status that comes with it. Sorry that probably doesn't help much.

Interesting. Yes the fancy shmancy that goes for 1k$ a night - forget the name ;).

How was it? Was there a jacuzzi in your room? I will mention that my SO also has the card and we could checkin with those free nights first and of course consolidate reservation. We plan on using them for 4 nights in Paris! Hopefully you'll say its worth it! :p
