Or are folks able to book it easily?

Why don't you use them for the Park Hyatt in New York?

Applied and was approved for the card last week, and my Hyatt status is still at 'Gold'. I'll be at a Hyatt tomorrow - was really hoping to have the platinum status to post so I can get an upgrade. How long after card approved should that switch?

Called - they claim you need 10 business days for it to post from chase. Asked for a status upgrade before that - but they would not do it.
When I got home after the trip had the card in the mail and platinum status on website - 1 day too late of course. Oh well.

Well, at least it looks like the platinum status took before my checkout, so I did get the 15% bonus points for the spend.
Looks like the status comes a day or two after the card is mailed.

Mine posted within 2 weeks of being approved so it's definitely possible but depends how fast you can do the spend. I also called right after I was approved and had them expedite the card

Interesting... creating a new FFN for an upcoming churn and changing address wasn't enough to create a new FFN. HGP error said I had a duplicate account. Went back and changed my email to +1@gmail.com and then it worked. Just something to know.

I'm interested in getting the free two nights to stay in a Category 5 hotel. Is that possible? Does this card only go to category 4? If so, can I use these points to partially pay for the category 5?

The two signup night can be used for any category
