No need to pay AF. After the night posts, you can cancel the card and get the AF refunded.

My wife applied for the Hyatt card 12/10/14

I logged into my account and the free nights weren't there,  i SM'd chase about it and they replied that the nights expired 11/30/15.

Is there any chance Chase would reinstate them?

Data point:

- Opened up Hyatt card Sept. 2014, met spend and award nights posted within the same month.
- Closed Hyatt card Oct. 2015.
- Created new account early Nov. 2015 with new home address, email and phone number.
- Nov. 30 (?) 2015 applied for another Hyatt card--application went pending; did not call it in--received letter saying: "You earned a new cardmember bonus on the same product in the last 24 months".

It did not list any of the other usual suspects with denials--too many new accounts, sufficient credit, etc.

I'm not even sure if they pulled my credit, as there's no FICO score listed. (As an aside, I have my reference number and can check, but can never find the link where to enter that info, only the report access using date of notification which I cant access at the moment).

I meant do you know where the link is to enter your reference number not the date? It never works for me. Always makes me call.

No. Just make sure the night has posted to your Hyatt account before you close the card.

I think it generally is. See how much the rate is that night.
Just don't be expecting a true Park Hyatt experience.
