According to Dan: The nights post within a week of spending, regardless of statement close.
They expire 12-13 months from posting and can typically be extended by 1 more month by emailing Hyatt.

Best offer out there for now: (Thanks DoGo!)
Go to Hyatt.com make a reservation, click book, and before cc page you will see offer for card with the 2 free nights PLUS $50 statement credit. Looks something like this

Anniversary nights appear in account before annual fee posts.

are the anniversary nights on this card the same as the signup nights

No. The signup nights are valid on any hotel, the anniversary nights are only good for Cat 1-4.

I'm know this has been asked 100 times but can't find a concrete answer (i.e. several conflicting reports)...

Do signup nights need to be used by the expiration or is it enough to book by then?

Also, according to hyatt.com the signup nights can be booked online. I can't seem to find how to do this - can someone please explain how this is done?

Thanks in advance

When you search for a points reservation, it automatically gives you the option to use your free nights.

Clawback question? I hope this is the correct thread to post this question. If not, please redirect.

In February I booked two separate future stays at Hyatt properties. One for July and one for December.

They were prepaid, non-refundable stays. I used my Chase Hyatt card.

Total for both stays was about $10k charged to the card.

I earned 30k HGP points for the purchase.

Due to a personal issue, I am unable to keep the reservations and both hotels were kind to cancel the reservations  and refund the full amounts to the credit card. This just happened today and the refund will not post for a few days.

My question is...will the 30k points get clawed back? They have been in my HGP account since March.

Should I use the existing points balance now to book a reward reservation before any potential clawback? Will that work?

If so, must it be an immediate stay to be used while this refund is processing or can a future stay lock out a clawback?

Finally, I had 2 stays and 10 nights credited to my account. Are these likely to get clawed back?

P.S. I'm Diamond.

Why not just buy nights and then sell yours when you get them?
