According to Dan: The nights post within a week of spending, regardless of statement close.
They expire 12-13 months from posting and can typically be extended by 1 more month by emailing Hyatt.

Best offer out there for now: (Thanks DoGo!)
Go to Hyatt.com make a reservation, click book, and before cc page you will see offer for card with the 2 free nights PLUS $50 statement credit. Looks something like this

Anniversary nights appear in account before annual fee posts.

would love if Chase hadn't made 5/24 rule!! ;)
The Chase Hyatt card is not subject to 5/24 guidelines.

I got approved for this card and got the sign up nights in Aug 2014. Subsequently shut the card in Aug 2016. Any recommendations on if I should include my Hyatt Gold Passport number in a new application?  Does it matter one way or the other?

Why not? You're eligible for the bonus.

It's been 24 months since he got the bonus, has nothing to do with when he closed it.

Applied for Hyatt card, but didn't get instantly approved. Recon analyst was able to approve by moving $5k credit limit from existing account but said it would need "final approval" from the "verification department" which could take up to 30 days. What does that mean?
