I may have to close my just opened hyatt card in order to get the sapphire approved. Does anyone know if the 2 free nights will post to my account even if i cancel? (i did the first spend on july 1)

If they already posted to Hyatt you're safe.

So how many days was it from application to closing? And how many days after your first purchase did your nights post?

my fee posted right away together with first purchase. Hoping to get it off when i cancel though.

It was approx 45 days from app to close. And IIRC approx 7 days for nights to post.

Surprised they didn't get around to hitting you with the fee in 45 days (figure 25 days of having the card)... seems like a long time not to charge you the fee... but congrats, I guess!

under My Awards in my hyatt account i see 4 suite upgrades. i thought it was supposed to be 2. any idea what it means? did my free nights somehow end up as suite upgrades?

did u do a diamond challenge if yes u get 4 suite upgrades from that

When you apply for the card as diamond you get 2 nights at a suite, not upgrades. When you become diamond, that gets you 4 suite upgrades.

No, you'll get 2 free nights in a suite for applying for the card as a diamond member.

The 2 free nights showed up in my account last night(first spend was on July 1). This morn I called chase to cancel the hyatt and get the sapphire opened but I was told that they can't do a closure on my hyatt since it's open less than six months. Does anyone have experience with this. Is it just a matter of getting a different rep.?
