According to Dan: The nights post within a week of spending, regardless of statement close.
They expire 12-13 months from posting and can typically be extended by 1 more month by emailing Hyatt.

Go to Hyatt.com make a reservation, click book, and before cc page you will see offer for card with the 2 free nights PLUS $50 statement credit. Looks something like this

Anniversary nights appear in account before annual fee posts.

The T&Cs say that you'll only get the free sign-up nights if you haven't received the bonus for the card in the past 24 months. I'm assuming this means from the time that you earned the bonus, right? Is there a way to check back and see the exact date my bonus was earned on?

it usually posts a couple days after the spend finishes, so you can look at first couple cc statements if you have access to them

You sure it's after the spend finishes and not when the statement closes? Would Hyatt Gold Passport know if I called them?

Okay, thanks. Looks like I finished the spend on 3/3/14, and statement ended up closing on 3/23/14. So would the smart thing to do is close the card (I still have it open from when I got it almost 2 yrs ago) after my anniversary night posts to my Hyatt account (this past year it posted mid/late Feb.), wait a few weeks until about mid-March and then reapply for it? I know it's a YMMV, but any certain amount of time to wait between closing and applying to increase chances of approval?

Just make a new Hyatt account and ignore the T&C's.
