According to Dan: The nights post within a week of spending, regardless of statement close.
They expire 12-13 months from posting and can typically be extended by 1 more month by emailing Hyatt.

Best offer out there for now: (Thanks DoGo!)
Go to Hyatt.com make a reservation, click book, and before cc page you will see offer for card with the 2 free nights PLUS $50 statement credit. Looks something like this

Anniversary nights appear in account before annual fee posts.

Getting somewhat back on topic....

Doesn anyone have any advice on how I can go about getting Hyatt Diamond Trial Status by January?

With the HHonors Gold trial not around anymore, I am not sure how I can do it.

If you are Hyatt Diamond the Hyatt Visa Signature card gets you 2 free nights in a suite, you don't have to pay anything.
This is besides for the 4 suite upgrades you have for being Diamond that work only on paid rates.

Has anyone had success upgrading a non-paid stay using a suite upgrade?

Yes, but it's at the hotel's discretion/approval.

So I'd have to book, and then call the hotel directly? Or, if I'm remembering correctly, I think you were of the opinion to wait until check-in to try...?

Lol...that was for priceline.

Book if it's refundable and then call the hotel and ask for a manager and see if they're willing to let you use a suite upgrade cert on your stay.  If they notate the res that they are OK with that then Hyatt GP will be able to process the upgrade.  Or get the name of the manager and have Hyatt GP call the hotel directly and speak to that manager.

Great, thanks for the help. Spoke to the manager there. Because they only have a total of three suites at that property they don't upgrade anyone using the upgrade certs even on paid stays. He said he'd notate my reservation to upgrade to the best room short of a suite. Thanks again.

You can also call the PH and ask if they're willing to open up space for an award room for you.

I guess I'd speak to a manager there? If they're willing, would I book the RSVP with him on the phone then, or would I then need to call Hyatt GP?

I've done it both ways.

I've done it both ways.

Just found out that my 2 free nights anywhere at Hyatt posted. Cycle did not close and I have nt paid yet. Waiting for my wife's 2 free (standard room for all 4 ) . I also have 50 k UR .

First of all if I book the room  for 2 nights at the PH PARIS VENDOMME. And cancel do I lose the certs?

If not , Should I book 2 nights to get a position , and then try to add the other 2 after? I might use 22 k UR for a fifth night?

Should I transfer 22 k for the 5 th night and try booking 2 +  1 and hope for the other 2 to post soon to my wife's account after spend is met ?

I don't have status in either airline or Hyatt aside from
plat Hyatt via the card .

In hotels and flight logistics , is it better to book hotel first then work on flight later.

Both will be free awards thanks to guys like you Ou La La Paree  :)

Just check the cancellation terms when you make the booking.  As long as you cancel before the deadline you will get the nights back.

Do you know that for a fact or should I check the terms ?

I don't make any blanket statements that I don't know for a fact.

Sorry I thought your answer was dubious. I realize now , you meant check and then if allowable book, and cancel

Just did 3BM with Chase SW, Ink Bold and Hyatt. Got SW and Ink Bold approved in reconsideration (all thanks to Dan and this site) and still have Hyatt card to go.

I have nothing to make status match with to Hyatt before I would be approved. I also have a trip planned at Grand Hyatt Kauai and used 27K points a night to get Oceanside club room. Wanted to do something more special then regular room (which I assume I can't do with free nights with no status).

Question is, being that I don't need free nights right now, do I wait to try to get better status or do you think this offer won't be around in 6 months so might as well grab it?  Or has anyone churned this card?  Thanks....
