According to Dan: The nights post within a week of spending, regardless of statement close.
They expire 12-13 months from posting and can typically be extended by 1 more month by emailing Hyatt.

Best offer out there for now: (Thanks DoGo!)
Go to Hyatt.com make a reservation, click book, and before cc page you will see offer for card with the 2 free nights PLUS $50 statement credit. Looks something like this

Anniversary nights appear in account before annual fee posts.

I just applied for the Hyatt card and got denied. The rep told me because I had this same card within the past 24 months. I know this has been a rule in place for years although I have never encountered this being an issue. Has anyone had this issue with a chase card not even part of 5/24?

I actually got the Hyatt card & Marriott cards  successfully within 24 months of closing the same card.
I know this has always been a rule for a while. It seemed they were not enforcing it. I'm curious to know if they're starting to enforce it now

You are not speaking clearly.

It doesn't matter when you closed the card. It matters when the last bonus was.

Also
when is the last time you didnt have an issue and which card?

So are you saying that 6 months ago you got the bonus and closed the card and 5 months ago you got the bonus again?

Or are you saying you got the bonus 25 months ago and just closed the card now and are having issues. Please be clear here as there are a lot of distinctions.

Sorry...  I have received multiple bonuses within 24 months of each other in the past. I have never had a card denied with the reasoning of "you have gotten this bonus within the past 24 months "
I am asking if anyone has had this happen to them.

I'm gonna ask one more time, then I am done.

How long ago in the past and which card?

Past=within the past 24 months from today , so 3/29/15. Hyatt card

my 2 free nights (signup) expire in december, but online they allow me to book until later, march 2018. If I book it can they deny me the nights because its after expiration?

I'm not sure its the same with SNU as it is with the anniversary nights, but it looked like I was able to book my anniversary night past the expiration, but when I submitted the reservation, it didn't go through (I got a message on the screen that my reservation wasn't view-able online and when I called they had no record of it and the anniversary night was still in my account).

I called and they said it was because the anniversary night is checkout by not book by but it will show rooms as bookable with the Award night even if the date you're looking to book is past the expiration.  With the anniversary night it will show as available even on rooms that don't qualify like category 5-7 hotels.

It's really stupid and misleading.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

On the bright side, many DPs indicate you can cash in your expired unused certificates for 20,000 points each via SM. No guarantees, but might be better than wasting them on a lower end stay
