According to Dan: The nights post within a week of spending, regardless of statement close.
They expire 12-13 months from posting and can typically be extended by 1 more month by emailing Hyatt.

Best offer out there for now: (Thanks DoGo!)
Go to Hyatt.com make a reservation, click book, and before cc page you will see offer for card with the 2 free nights PLUS $50 statement credit. Looks something like this

Anniversary nights appear in account before annual fee posts.

Shame its not quite a mattress runnable promo
it possibly can be. according to ben, "For example, my local Hyatt often has rates of around $100 per night, and the club lounge is closed on weekends. When you’re a Diamond member and stay over the weekend when the club lounge is closed, you get 2,500 bonus Gold Passport points. That means I’d be earning 2,750 bonus points per night through this promotion, 2,500 points for the club lounge being closed, 1,000 points as my Diamond welcome amenity, and then maybe 650 base points, for roughly 7,000 Gold Passport points for a one night mattress run"

Anyone know which Hyatt he's talking about?
At any rate at 99% of Hyatts you're not going to get under 1.5cpp.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I'm a diamond member from status challenge and applied today for Hyatt card. I wont be making the necessary stays to complete the status challenge. What happens to my benefits from the card? Will my 2 nights be in a suite regardless of when I make the stay? And will I be a lifetime platinum or diamond member for as long as I make the stay? Thanks

Welcome :)

As long as you apply for the card when you are a Diamond, you'll receive two nights in a suite usable anytime up to a year after they're issued.

As long as you have the Hyatt CC, you'll be Hyatt Platinum (after you lose your Diamond status).

Not sure what the bolded is asking...

Did the card recently change to only receiving the 2nd night after $1000 spend within 3 months?

So it seems (for other links), still easy as pie.

The DansDeals Hyatt link still offers two nights after $1, might want to hurry and get that before it changes.

-1, same as other links (at least when I click on it).

From Dan's link:

Quote
You will qualify for and receive one Hyatt Gold Passport® Free Night Award after your first purchase. You will qualify for and receive an additional Hyatt Gold Passport® Free Night Award if you make purchases totaling $1,000 or more within 3 months of account opening.

Source.

Maybe it changed that quickly?  ;)

I stand corrected, I misread the promo. Thanks AJK  :-[

But if you're churning the card then you might still be Platinum in which case you'll get two nights and two suite upgrades after first purchase.

True, but I guess that'd go back to the old question of if and when Chase lets Hyatt know the card has been cancelled (unless you get the status the hard way).

CMIIW, but I'm under the impression that even if you cancel the card you keep the status until the end of the status-year.

I'm not sure... if it's like airline status, then I guess so, but I don't know any credit card that gives automatic status in a similar fashion.

In any case, reapplying with your same GP # probably reduces your shot at being able to churn successfully...

I wish someone who tried that could clarify one way or another.

+1, but if I tried it, I'd personally use a new GP# simply in an effort to stack the deck in favor of success (or reduce the odds of failure, anyway).

I'd probably just create a new GP account and merge to the new account, this way I'm still Platinum but with a new GP#.

Is it easy to merge GP accounts?
