I applied for this card last year as a diamond member and got the free suites.

I want to cancel the card and reapply before my diamond membership expires. Did anyone have success churning this card and if so how long did you wait etc. details please?

I'm thinking of cancelling the Hyatt card and avoiding the $75 annual fee. Does anyone know if they will take back the anniversary night they gave me?

Is there anyway to get diamond status without actually staying at Hyatt? Somehow I don't think so as I read on FT that they are no longer status matching. Want to apply for the card but would much rather do it so I can get free suites...

i had this card and canceled it shortly thereafter, if i reapply w the same gp# will i get the free suite nights again? don't wanna make a new gp account because i'm a diamond

Maybe make a new account to apply with and then combine them later on combining your diamond status as well. ?

I definitely would not reapply with the same GP #.

Either create a new one or leave it blank (no experience either way).

If you end up applying, just merge the two accounts (trying to ensure its merged into the account with Diamond).

If you do churn, please post back with results.

I just opened a Hyatt card but didn't make a purchase yet.
Would like my bonus nights to expire as LATE as possible.
Will the time of my purchase affect the date of expiration for my bonus nights?

Yup. Expire 12+ months from first purchase

How do I get Diamond Status to get the 2 free nights in a suite? I'm Hyatt Platinum already and don't have the card yet. I looked through the thread but I'm still unclear on what I need to do.

Lame. What are they trying to accomplish?
The reason nobody's spending on the Hyatt card is because of Freedom+Sapphire and this isn't going to change anyone's spending patterns.
