According to Dan: The nights post within a week of spending, regardless of statement close.
They expire 12-13 months from posting and can typically be extended by 1 more month by emailing Hyatt.

Best offer out there for now: (Thanks DoGo!)
Go to Hyatt.com make a reservation, click book, and before cc page you will see offer for card with the 2 free nights PLUS $50 statement credit. Looks something like this

Anniversary nights appear in account before annual fee posts.

There is incentive with Hyatt to try with the same number if you are diamond.  Major props to the first person to try churning this card to help out many others with the info.

Sent an SM asking when, I can expect my two nights. I received the "hit the road" letter saying that I already  received the points. So I sent them a response with the suggestion of cancelling my card.

My question now, if I end up cancelling will my Hyatt points expire? How do I prevent that?
Thanks

Darn. 1/2 on Hyatt churning it seems.

Hyatt Gold Passport points do not expire. However, accounts with not activity within 12 months may be closed.

New HGP # seems to be the determining factor.

Hi had tried a different HGP number but somehow (last name or something they discovered it) and merged the 2 accounts.

If you used a different address, number, email etc. they would never discover it. And even if they did they would have no way of knowing its the same person and therefore wouldnt merge.

but then you would have to try and merge them along the line so you can combine the totals. Anyway gonna try the cancellation threat if not then I will cancel again in a cpl of months and try all different info for HPG.

You keep totals in your HGP Account? I would only try when at zero balance and no reservations

Then what can you lose ? That's what I am going  to do after I use my points for 4 nights stay
somewhere .

Re: HYATT CARD 2 AWARD NIGHTS AND $75 STATEMENT CREDIT!!
« Reply #913 on: November 05, 2012, 03:38:34 PM »
I just received this reply after an SM to waive the $75

Dear

Thank you for contacting Chase about 27.

I understand that you have concerns regarding the annual
fee associated with the account listed above. Our records
do not indicate that the fee was to be waived for the
first year. Your account was opened with an offer to
receive Two Free Award Nights after the first purchase.

To further research your request for the $75 first-year
annual fee waiver, please provide the 12-digit Invitation
Code included on the enrollment offer you received. You
may expedite the request by faxing a copy of the document
to us at 1-888-643-9628. Once we receive the information,
we will quickly review the account details to determine
whether a rewards point adjustment should be made.

Please be advised that the 12-digit Invitation Code is
exclusive to the recipient of the enrollment offer.

If you have any further questions, please reply using the
Secure Message Center.

Thank you,

What should I do next?

Do you think the screenshot for $100 will work if I send it now?  What do I write with the screenshot?

Why wouldnt I send them a $100?

Is  there a better  chance of them waiving the fee with the $75?

What do I write with the screenshot?

I remember seeing that someone got shot down (can I use that phrase?:P) because it was a screenshot copied off a blog. I have my own actual screenshot that shows the browser and all. I don't know what screenshot you have (I have a copy of the $100 blog one too), but I figured I'd offer mine.

About what to say, that I don't know. I applied with the $75 link and tried to get matched to $100. They responded that they wanted proof that I booked a hotel stay to give me the extra $25, so I just left it alone.
