dunno, I wanted a room, for tonight, was unable to book online. tried calling they said sorry its all booked. I could have payed though for a pretty standard looking room,-was available online. THESE ARE FACTS

I did HUCA BTW and Its indeed a fact. The HYATT (chase) free nights are subject to availability. They are often not available even though the same hotel has rooms available for sale at a standard price of aprox 299 for a king room.
Bottom line I was mislead by someone who was singing the praises of the Chase HYATT card with free nights, I was under the impression that there are no blackouts and that booking a room would not be a PITA. I tried booking on wednsday for last sat night but failed.
(Its ok we will have another anniversary next year....{I hope!})

Pretty sure "subject to availability" doesn't mean what you think it does 

Example: an award night not being redeemable at a hotel that is 110% overbooked does not mean that award nights are subject to availability. It means the rooms in the hotel itself are sold out.

they offered me to pay for one. Both online and on the phone. So no, the hotel was not full. The few rooms they put aside for reward redmption where taken. IMO the chase hyatt cc is a waste of a pull. Not to memtion that getting the statement credit is a huge pita.

That was just an example. An example you apparently missed the point of.

The fact of the matter is "standard" room has a definition. If the rooms by that definition are sold out, you can say "hey, see! they ARE subject to availability and they won't give me an award night for them" to which I'd respond, "yes, they are subject to availability, but only in the sense that they cannot sell you (or redeem for you) a room which they do not have.

This is after a different SM that said they couldnt issue a credit but they will add 2500 points to my rewards balance.

Does this still mean i'll get the 2500 points?

Please update if you got the points also.

Confirmed that I got the $75 annual fee waived and I received the 2500 points

It means the hotel is not available for sale unless youre an elite member with guaranteed availability, in which case they either have extra rooms reserved or will 'walk' out other guests.

Then you're a fool. It happens every single day somewhere.
Elite guaranteed availability is just that.  Guaranteeing an elite that in exchange for being a loyal customer that they will always have a room if they pay the full rack rate, even if it means turning away a late arriving peon.
Hotels do it. Airlines do it. Car rental places do it.  It's smart business.

No offense, but for someone who doesn't seem to have a clue, you sure are stubborn.

Instead of arguing and doubting what people are telling you, why don't you start reading the various threads so maybe one day you can start contributing to these threads instead having the collective DDF repeatedly bang our heads against a wall trying to convince you you're mistaken?
