According to Dan: The nights post within a week of spending, regardless of statement close.
They expire 12-13 months from posting and can typically be extended by 1 more month by emailing Hyatt.

Best offer out there for now: (Thanks DoGo!)
Go to Hyatt.com make a reservation, click book, and before cc page you will see offer for card with the 2 free nights PLUS $50 statement credit. Looks something like this

Anniversary nights appear in account before annual fee posts.

two quick questions
1. do the two nights need to be booked within one year or do you actually need to have the stay within one year from issuing?
2. is it advisable to do a status match before to get the suite?

The 2 nights need to be actually be used within 1 year.
However the clock only starts counting from when you first use the card, not from when you get the card.

Why not get the status match if you can to get a suite?

I have never had Priority Club OR Hyatt Gold.  I just signed up for both online.

Dan gave some Steps a couple of posts back whereas step #1 was to call Priority Club and tell them to give you Platinum status based on a top-tier status in another program.

--Does Priority Club REQUIRE a screen shot or any other kind of substantiating documentation or can one simply just call and say "I have Platinum/Diamond status at ****" and then they'll just match it?

So:
-Call Priority Club to get Platinum over the phone based on telling them you are top-tier at another hotel program.
-Fax a screenshot of Priority Club Platinum to Hyatt to get Hyatt Diamond

Why would the time of the 'update' (usually known as a status match) matter with regards to the free nights? So long as you have status when you make the reservation, it won't matter when your status is from.

The credit card bonus goes by your status at the time of application.

Still waiting to find out if the hotel status gained by applying for the card will spill over to any additional cardholders. If anyone tries this, please post back what happened.

I am trying to apply for this card.  The application for asks for my Hyatt gold membership number.  Where do I get it?

I called up Priority Club yesterday to try to get Platinum Status (based on a Promo that ended 12/31/10) and they were absolutely terrible on the phone - worst customer service....ever.  (And yes, I am referring to BOTH the cust srvc agent AND her supervisor, who couldn't speak English well)

I then called Hyatt up to status match a Hilton Honors Diamond status and found "Chris" to be a moron.  He stated that the 2 free nights in a Hyatt hotel are ONLY given the first year as a promo - NOT YEARLY - aka 2 free nights. given one time only. period.

THEN, he contradicted himself and said "If you status match to Diamond, then apply for CC, then you'll get 2 suites as opposed to 2 standard rooms.  But, know that your status match is only good for the year so even though you'll get 2 suites this year, you will lose status (assuming I dont stay X nights/year) in the upcoming year and then you'll only get 2 standard rooms until your status goes up again"

I thought that status match to Hyatt Diamond or Hyatt Platinum THEN apply for CC would guarantee you that "status" for hotel rooms yearly, even if you lose your actual Hyatt status in a later year...

SO:
1) Is it 2 nights first year only, or yearly (Chris said both, lol)
2) Are the standard room/suite 2 nights a year based on
   a) Status at time of App
   b) Status of your Hyatt Account during the year you get the award (ie. Suite in year 1, standard in years 2-5, suite in year 6, etc..)

Thanks!

It doesn't suck IMHO. It's still a great offer, just not as good as you thought.
