According to Dan: The nights post within a week of spending, regardless of statement close.
They expire 12-13 months from posting and can typically be extended by 1 more month by emailing Hyatt.

Best offer out there for now: (Thanks DoGo!)
Go to Hyatt.com make a reservation, click book, and before cc page you will see offer for card with the 2 free nights PLUS $50 statement credit. Looks something like this

Anniversary nights appear in account before annual fee posts.

I was wondering if when they decline you because of a recent chase app is that based on their own internal check or based on your report?

+1. I was successful with a freeze (after previous recent apps), but I wasn't exactly going to ask the recon rep that. I'm wondering if Kiva BB knows.

If they only look at your report would that increase my chances for instant approval if my freeze leads them to my other report with a much higher score?
Or by default do all frozen reports get reviewed?

I'm guessing (not sure at all) that when your default bureau is frozen they have to manually pull the reports, this is why when some people have frozen EX they got inquiries on both TU an EQ.

Three "manual" inquiries on the same day _should_ still get combined by the bureau.  Not going to test it though...

Also, they may not all go to the same "other" bureau.

I'm thinking trifecta with a credit freeze might result in three inquires (since they are pulled manually), what was your experience like?

Play it safe? How long does it take to transfer Sapphire to Hyatt? I'd figure it's pretty quick, no?

let me give some info. i froze both experian and equifax and did a double app sapphire and Hyatt. one was pending so that the recon people couldnt do anythign with it while the other one they could. they told me they had not been able to pull a report all were frozen i told them i know TU is not frozen he said let me see what i can do and ended up pulling TU. the next day either the automated system or someone manually pulled TU for the hyatt app so i ended up getting two pulls in two days

Yup, I would totally consider this a possible risk when trifecta'ing with a freeze.

I'm thinking that with CC issuers that allow it, I can apply much more often by playing around with the freezes, even with the $5.41 fee each time I remove it it'll probably be worth it, there might even be a way to circumvent that too.

All these posts about freezing should probably be moved to a freezing thread, what do you guys think?

Have they pulled an Experian report in the past 12 months? If yes, did they mention anything from that report when they reviewed these apps?

Yes, they pulled 5 Experians in last 12 months, but they didn't mention pulls. They did mention 15 new card in last .... months which they never did to me before on Experian. My problem was I have a high HELOC balance which I'm paying 1 point below prime and they made a big deal that I haven't lowered the debt on it in 5 years. I tried to explain that I use the money for investment urposes....to take advantage of low rate.....but they didn't want to hear of it.  They also never did that with Experian. I have had 3 Chase cards in last 6 months. That led me to beleive that they were scrutinizing me more but maybe just speculatingand YMMV.

Diamonds (at the time of application) get 2 free nights in a suite in any Hyatt hotel.

Where is the source for this? I've read through the card's terms and I only see two free nights, but I don't see anything about two free suites if (when you apply) you are a Hyatt Diamond member... Anyone?

Hyatt CS posted the info on FT.
I tested it myself as a Diamond with my link and have the 2 suite nights.

Ah, interesting. Thanks.

Got matched diamond status, so just waiting for it to be reflected in my online Hyatt account before applying. (Is this necessary?)

Amazing how some people can make half a dozen comments about how it can't, won't, and didn't work and then doesn't follow up with the info that they got it to work in the end...

Yes, I agree -- terrible people, them.

But, those people aren't the same as ones who:

1) Off-handedly asked if Hyatt still matched and was told that there was a corporate policy against it; and
2) Initially got denied when requesting a status match via email; and
3) Followed up via fax with a long, professional letter about wanting to bring my business to Hyatt yadda yadda yadda; and
4) (most importantly) Received the status match about 40 mins ago.

That being said,  I will make sure to follow up on DansDeals proper.

Now that you're (hopefully) done shellacking me, do I need to wait until diamond status shows up on the online platform before applying for Hyatt Visa?

Oh, and thanks for the prompt replies.

What type of availability limits (if any) are applicable to the free nights?

There are none.  If they're selling a standard room then it's yours for free.
