According to Dan: The nights post within a week of spending, regardless of statement close.
They expire 12-13 months from posting and can typically be extended by 1 more month by emailing Hyatt.

Best offer out there for now: (Thanks DoGo!)
Go to Hyatt.com make a reservation, click book, and before cc page you will see offer for card with the 2 free nights PLUS $50 statement credit. Looks something like this

Anniversary nights appear in account before annual fee posts.

LOL...OK, shellacking finished.

Definitely wait until it says Diamond on Hyatt.com to apply for the card.

Will do. But, now, I probably have to wait 30 days.

I applied (and was approved) for the BA 100k deal on 5/1.

Then, today, after seeing the Sapphire 100k deal, I applied, but "application pending." (When would you suggest calling Chase and following up on that app? I would hate to miss out on the 50k match.)

Do you think I should wait (30 days?) to apply for the Hyatt? After all the Diamond match lasts 60 days...

Thoughts?

EDIT: From my credit report, it looks like the BA inquiry was done on 4/11 and not 5/1.

AJK--IF 30 DAYS PAST ,APPLY!

I just got my sapphire card with 50.0 abt 2 weeks ago ( waited 30 days from BA card )-- sent e/m got raised to 100, NO PROBLEM

I too want to apply for the Hyatt card ( still trying to get diamond match )will wait a week or two to see if I get diamond , I will just keep trying !

I also got  BA 100.0 -about 6 weeks ago ---

I "think" everything is based on your credit score and not so much as when received last card ,assuming your pulls are not crazy.

I am thinking of doing a chase business card as do not see great offers for biz cards

keep in mind -CHASE---is hungry  for credit card customers ,why else all the great deals , while they want you is the time to sign up .

Well - it's not past 30 days...

Here's my lineup:

BA - 4/11 - approved
Sapphire - 6/20 - application pending
Hyatt - ? - ?

Two questions:

1) When should I contact Chase re: approving the Sapphire card? I dont want to miss the 50k match!
2) When should I apply for the Hyatt card? Should I wait 30 days? Should I be worried that the Hyatt card offer will expire?

Thanks!

How do you get Diamond match?

See post #165:

1) Off-handedly asked if Hyatt still matched and was told that there was a corporate policy against it; and
2) Initially got denied when requesting a status match via email; and
3) Followed up via fax with a long, professional letter about wanting to bring my business to Hyatt yadda yadda yadda; and
4) (most importantly) Received the status match about 40 mins ago.

You should've waited for your Hyatt status to post and applied for the Hyatt card the same time as the Sapphire to limit your credit hits.

You can call Chase whenever you feel like it.  Either it will be too early or it wont be.
I don't see the Hyatt offer expiring in the next 30 days.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Agreed  :-[ -- I'm an idiot, I just didn't think after being rejected twice that I'd be successful in getting the Hyatt status match. I live, I learn.

Great - I'll call now. Do you recommend one chase number over the other? In other words, which number would you use? --

Chase: 888-270-2127 (Application reconsideration)
Chase: 877-781-3109 (Card combining & card type changes)
Chase: 888-245-0625 (Credit Analyst reconsideration)

Thanks again.

Same boat as in AJK. I called Chase at their app status check: Chase: 800-432-3117 (Application status), and they said that they will notify me in writing within 2 weeks. Does that usually mean a rejection? :(

You need reconsideration not status.

So, does that mean #1 or #3?

Chase: 888-270-2127 (Application reconsideration)
or
Chase: 888-245-0625 (Credit Analyst reconsideration)

Definitely does not mean an automatic rejection. Sometimes they wait the 2 weeks (or up to 30 days) and then give an approval.

However, even in you get rejected, Chase has a wonderful reconsideration department (from what I've read), so you'll have another shot that way.

Many thanks. Turns out I was approved. No haggling needed.

When I asked for the card to be overnighted to me, though, they said it's being setup in the "benefits department" and there is no way to expedite that process. Agent told me two weeks to receive, but it may very well be sooner than that.

Here's to hoping it shows up in my online Chase profile soon so I can get 50k.

Thanks all

I've been reading the last few pages and got a bit confused. I want to apply for the hyatt card but I also want to do the matching...matching should be done before I apply? If yes why?

Match before. That way, you will get two free rooms in a *suite* instead of standard rooms.
