My son brought a Esrog from EY through terminal 8 and the custom agent was really cool. He said if the esrog does not have a pitom it is not kosher. He wanted to show that he new the rules
Did he declare it?

i never had a problem

+1,

When Porter airlines was new I flew into YTZ, the customs official scratched his head trying to figure out why I needed a palm branch. He asked what I am going to do with it so I told him I will shake it, this promoted more scratching of the head.

But he gave me no problem at all.

In today's Hamodia you can find all the rules about traveling with the Arbah Minim.

Just got an email from Agudah

As in past years, Agudath Israel of America's Washington Office has worked closely with agencies of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to help fend off potential problems for travelers carrying arba minim

Both the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have notified their respective field personnel about the upcoming Sukkos holiday and the increased level of travel by persons of the Jewish faith, many of whom will be carrying arba minim.

The notifications, which have been sent out to federal officials at airports and border crossings, emphasizes the religious significance of these items and outlines the rules and procedures that would help allay possible security and health issues that are of concern to the federal government. In years prior to these agency steps, lack of knowledge regarding Sukkos and the arba minim had often led to the mishandling and mistreatment -- including seizure -- of these ritual objects.

The TSA Notice makes clear that the arba minim carried in airports, through security checkpoints or on aircraft, are not on the "prohibited items list" and provides instructions for travelers needing "special accommodations" in regard to checkpoint screening.  The CBP Guidance sets forth detailed information regarding the inspection process for arba minim entering the United States from foreign countries and points out that the agency is "committed to treating all travelers, including travelers who may be observing Sukkot, with respect and dignity at all U.S. ports of entry."

"We are gratified by the sensitivity of these agencies to the religious concerns of our community," said Rabbi Abba Cohen, Agudath Israel's Vice President for Federal Affairs and Washington Director. "They are taking meaningful and appropriate steps to accommodate our religious needs."

For the texts from the individual agencies, please email constituentservices@agudathisrael.org.

Yes
Does anyome know if i declare that i have an esrog, how long it takes to go through?

and just to make sure declaring means writing it on the BLUE paper?

And maybe is it better just to go through normal, and claim (if they catch it) that thought fruits that needs to be cleared are with out the sticker but this one has a sticker...

Planning on traveling to Canada with my Lulav and Esrog , anyone have any experience? did you declare it? did they confiscate it or did they let it through because its a religious article?
I know this was from last year, but did you have a problem in the end getting your lulav and esrog to/from Canada? Did you need any special stickers?

Driving is not a problem do it every year. Last year I flew to Canada had no problem, although on the way back into the states they wanted to inspect it for bugs, but it was just a few min so you might want to leave yourself some extra time.
