You should update the forum rules. I noticed that one of the forum rules states (in bold)

Quote
-Links to competing sites are not allowed.

I think we've all posted links to competing sites and therefore violated this rule. Also you might want to add a rule about not posting anything illegal (credit card and insurance fraud etc)

just like all the threads are put into categories (like up in air, credit cards, deals), it would be nice if they will be further sub-divided (like in deals, all amazon in it's own thread).

We need a way for non-mods to remove words like HOT from a thread that is weeks old. We don't need to see that when people are reporting delivery of the item weeks or months later! Maybe through a certain amount of Users "voting" to remove word?

Others have probably complained about this in the past but I am not even searching for it.

ETA: I am not even going to bring up the idea of doing the same for posts that the HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! is unwarranted from the beginning.

Until I got this message today, I hadn't paid attention to the missing lock on the URL bar next to forums.dansdeals.com.
The lock on Firefox means that the site is secure.

I get this message every time I log on now:
Firefox will display a grey lock icon with a red strike-through in the address bar, when a login page youíre viewing does not have a secure connection. This is to inform you that if you enter your password it could be stolen by eavesdroppers and attackers.

They recommend: If a login page for your favorite site is insecure, you can try and see if a secure version of the page exists by typing https:// before the url in the location bar. You can also try to contact the web administrator for the site and ask them to secure their connection.

So how secure is our forum site?

Can we implement an amazon button which spells out the whole link and all we have to do is put the ASIN number in?

Don't know why this wasn't done a while back?
Put the link like this into a button on top to allow users to give a click and just enter the ASIN number.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/*********/?tag=cl03f-20&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Either put the stars or some sort of spacing or leave blank to enter the asin#.

 Thanks Dan/JJ

(ps-is there special coding to do this or a simple method of dragging the link into an icon?)
Looking forward.
Most times its a direct link needed so rather have just this one link and if needed backspace the link to get the plain amazon link.

Hit the LIKE button to show some support to my campaign for the amazon Button.
;)

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

I feel that developing fixes and features for the current SMF forums is like developing a vaccine for dinosaurs :P

We need to get a good WP forums, and all these things will be easy add-ons.

You can make a new DDMS, but you'll need to pry the SMF DDF from my cold, dead hands.

It's plain, it's simple, and it works.

(Although it would be nice if you can get something like this working here. I have a bunch of pictures to share :P.)

Or if we can get HTML like this to run, somehow.

Code: [Select]
<blockquote data-width="500" data-height="375" class="ricoh-theta-spherical-image" >David Cafuta - <a href="https://theta360.com/spheres/samples/2bccbf6a-89ee-11e6-bbb7-064087ff3472-1" target="_blank">Spherical Image - RICOH THETA</a></blockquote>
