Am I missing something?
I think they should have a new topic just for retail stores. Anywhere and everywhere and a seperate thread for each one

I meant that there should be a separate thread for each store under one topic.
And you wrote

I meant as opposed to a "master thread for all deals at store-x".

Whatever. No need to argue when we are in agreement :)

Well how do we implement the suggestion?

I would say that whenever you need a thread for a specific store, create one. If we get enough of them, then we can ask for a topic/board for then.

There already is a thread for Staples. Probably others too.

People that are newish such as myself don't feel comfortable opening new threads for one question.. If there would be a topic then they wouldn't mind even if it's too ask a simple question.

I see what you mean... (BTDT, and got made fun of too :) )

I guess if it's a good reason to open a thread, hopefully people won't make fun. Though you have to hope that everyone agrees that it's a good thread, which is kind of asking the impossible...

This very thread was either my first or one of my first 5. I was terrified I would get criticized and yelled at. Looks like it's working out! SFSG you live and learn

good for you!

Plus, even if some people criticize a thread when it starts out, it can still turn out useful and helpful.

Then again,
IME it seems that it depends on the question / how it's asked.

If it's one of those "Hey everybody I'm too lazy to take 30 seconds to see if this has been answered 100 times already so could one of you answer it again" questions it'll be shot down.

If the asker shows that they made at least some effort to find it beforehand they'll probably be alright.

Since the search engine here is not that great, I figured we start a thread where people can help people find what they are looking for.

Especially in light of the success of the "Need help" master threads, it is clear that many people here are interested in helping one another just for the sake of helping. As an added bonus, the forums will be less cluttered.

So there you go... just make sure you search and/or ask in that thread before starting a new one, and you're all set!

1) Many times when I search for something I'll get only 30 results. The results page has 30 results per page (#31 would be page 2), but what's up with there being exactly 30 results to so many searches ?

2) When I click on a search result & it takes me to that page, as long as I'm on that page I could still click back & it'll take me back to the "search results" page. But if there's a conversation going on by that result & I read on to the next page when I try going back to the "search results" page I get "Did you forget to put something to search for? " & I gotta start the search all over again. (It's a real pain if there's 10 pages of results for that particular search)

Anybody else have these ?

Why not use google search?
