I think it's time to bring the same thing to DDF for signatures. It's not that I want to write long megillos in my signature, but if I want to put in links or formatting, all that code takes up characters, severely limiting what can be written.

Not having accurate locations can be really frustrating. Just check the "unemployment help" thread - so many people ask location-specific questions and they fail to specify their location. Having a more reliable location field would circumvent a lot of frustration.

I'm sure @cgr would agree.

True, but I think it would raise the percentage of accurate answers.

I don't remember but probably a bit of both. There may have been a discussion going on when I wrote it? TBH writing Lakewood would have been a better way to stay anonymous

Either way if I had to choose from a dropdown I'd just skip.

Correct- was going to respond with that and:
When it comes to unemployment you file in your employment state, not in your residence state. If you live in NJ and work in NY you apply in NY, so even if you're currently and always were located in NJ, your filing state would be NY.
And I don't think DDF should be customized to unemployment rules

It became the norm to be able attach photos. But when I send a pm there's no option to attach.

I imagine that would take away a lot of revenue + make Hot! Hurry! Deals that expire within minutes harder to get.

IME users check DDMS regularly hoping to find a hot deal but end up buying something else which catches their attention.

 Alternatively since there are less so-so deals people would check every notification immediately as they know it's a great deal, causing them to sell out faster.

Maybe they cam offset the loss by charging more for ads on the Hot page. @jj1000?

Once you are getting there, make a premium DDF membership which costs $x per year (free if you have more than xx hattips) which gets you access to hot/all deals x minutes earlier.

But that will never happen on the site where all are welcome and all are treated equally.

This idea may be far fetched but how about a section of "booking flight strategys" part of ddms? This may be one of my biggest flaws. Start off with simple and popular routes. NYC is probably you're biggest audience so I'd say to start with flights NYC-FLL, NYC-TLV, etc. and a breakdown to which sites and mileage programs you check first, and what to do with no availability... It should be fairly simple when a newbie is looking for a specific route so he or she would navigate to the post with that route.

Not sure how difficult it would be to implement but how about a single daily notification of new posts to followed threads?
