It's not reloading the card. It's reloading the mcc, which only helps if store ran out of mcc's (which happens often in first quarter of year when Freedom has 5x gas offer). I've never done it yet, so not sure it will work in my area either.

Was just clarifying that you weren't referring to a different type of paypal account. I guess we're all talking about mcc's loading to paypal and just that no-one here has much experience with these. Maybe everyone with experience got shut down and doesn't want to talk about it...

Either way - I just found thread that is discussing http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/manufactured-spending/1737046-all-things-paypal-2016-a-4.html. In short, if store has mcc's then can buy a few in one day and load one each day. If reusing an old one then only load one per paypal account per day.

Wow I had no idea you could reload, thanks for sharing. Excited to try this. Could be the answer to my out of stock problems.

You can't reload in all the stores that sell them. I've tried at Walgreens, and CVS. Both didn't work.

I've seen references to "swiping" the card to reload. Is there an actual swipe of the bottom part of the card with the magstrip and PIN, or do they just scan the barcode on the top half?

It really helps. I walk into store and hope to buy two or three, if they are totally out at least I can load one.

I was unable to swipe it. They had to scan the bottom like they do to a new card.
