Pros and Cons of being/adding an AU
« on: September 04, 2013, 12:55:52 AM »
Hey everyone,

I've been seeing a lot of conflicting info on adding or becoming an AU on some else's account. From what I gather, as long as the account is in good standing, then the person being added as an AU will get a credit boost (and visa versa). The person adding the AU will either be left alone or get a hit to their credit. Does this seem to be the conclusion?

Thanks!

I don't think the person adding the AU gets a pull.

I never heard of anyone getting a pull for adding or being an AU

There definitely is no credit pull for an AU.  I've verified this multiple times over the last few years.

There's no pull involved. However, someone in the Small Business Saturday thread mentioned that it was harder to obtain new credit lines. Maybe there's some unseen FICO stuff going on?

Yes chase business didn't want to approve me a few months back,  as they saw many AU accounts that i was on,  and were worried i can cash out.  So bottom line not so good to have many.

Had/have this issue with my wife. I added her on a bunch of cards to build her credit and now they don't want to give her a card.

I guess the question is when is to many to much. Also is this only an issue with chase or other banks as well.
