Am I a scoffer if every time I read "hey, please find me a mistake fare to Israel, Dan!" or "hey, I have 14,000 Virgin America miles, and I need help finding an award ticket to TLV!" I think to myself:

Dude, the world has so many other places to see? If it's your 11th time to Israel, why not enjoy some of Gds other creations?

I have a live and let live mentality.

But truth be told, I find a trip to Israel, other than for the yomim tovim is not so exciting at this point. I've done basically every tourist thing imaginable. It's nice to daven vasikin at the kotel, but that is finished by 7 AM and you have to full the rest of your day. That is, until my kids get older and I can do everything from scratch.

I understand the point. Yomim tovim are indeed nice in a country where basically everyone does the same as you. But i'm talking more about vacations.

Don't forget some people have close relatives that live in Israel and are flying multiple times a year to visit them. They're not necessarily looking for a vacation.

My thoughts exactly. I've been all over the world and still haven't crossed off half my bucket list yet I wouldn't mind a few $300 El-Al tickets...

I hear both sides. I've spent (on me and many  immediate family members )  so many miles, so much time and money on trips to Israel when sometimes I would have loved to use them for a 1,000 other places and trips.

And don't get me wrong, I love Israel.


But I do wish sometimes my family lived closer so I could use all those miles (and time!) for other trips.

A hour ago we saw tones of cops rushing to a certain area and now the captain announced that the taxiing is gonna take 45 minutes due to a close runway.
