Heard on traffic report on friday that there was a stalled truck with live chickens on the L.I.E.

Took my wife and kids this morning at 615 AM, but the local chabad.  It's expensive in Boston--45 dollars each=180.  But they were cleaning and dressing them right away, so they were pretty clearly going to be eaten.

Wow! In Lakewood I paid $13 per chicken (and that wasn't the cheapest place) Note for next year - you are probably allowed to use one male for you and the boys and one female for you and the girls.

They were processing on the spot and turning them into chicken cutlets and thighs ready to salt and eat.

Don't know about this particular situation but I've arranged small town Kapparos. Not cheap! Chickens are expensive if not grown for you and the Shochet takes about $1000 plus travel and lodging for Erev Yom Kippur.

You don't have to give an excuse for giving tzedaka! I'm surprised at you guys for giving @henche a hard time. There is a time and place for finding deals.

I partially agree with you but I don't think anyone was giving Henche a hard time, they were surprised/disappointed at how much the said organization was charging.
