Transportation:
Since we arrived Sunday evening and didn't want to learn the public transit system on the fly, we contacted an Israeli who has a 'cab' company and he quoted us 32 euro from the airport to the Bristol. This compared to the 50 or so euro the hotel quoted us, and the 40 or so going rate for a cabby. Besides for a slight miscommunication, this worked out well.
We decided to not rent a car, although my friend did in his visit.

We took a cab to the train station from the Bristol and paid 25 euro, but that was b/c he didn't put it on the meter. It should have cost around 13 euro.

The public transportation is great, and we took it to Schoenburg and to the airport, and it was easy to learn, and cheap. Tix to the airport cost around 4 euro each.

I'm assuming your talking about a connecting flight. The airport is very small and it can be done. The risk is if the first flight is delayed.

But you gotta eat it in the hotel, right? No restaurant where you can sit and be served on Shabbos?

Actually, if I end up going, I may just go during the week.

Anybody have any experience with car rentals in VIE?

Also, any insight on the local SIM market? When I was a bochur back in '09, I bought a prepaid SIM and paid for a data package, but don't remember the details too well. What are people doing these days?

Update: it seems like bob is the way to go for mobile data, with rates that seem almost too good to be true. Check this link out via google translate: https://shop.bob.at/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Mobilkom-bob-Site

Anybody have any experience with them?

I searched Shamash for kosher restaurants in Vienna, and they came up with 8 results. I've attached a screenshot here, as I can't figure out how to link to their search results page.

Anyone have any input on these places? Are they good? Not good? Are any of them out of business by now? Any other good places that are not listed? Do any of them have any kashrus problems I should be aware of?

Thanks!

The food or the hotel? (or both)
