Can anyone write their experience at hotel bristol?
is it worth the points?
is it better then the le meridien?
were you able to get upgraded?
Enjoyed it a lot.
I used C&P, and they even opened up an extra night for us after we emailed them.
I think i received a slight upgrade due to my Gold status, but n/t too big.

Not nearly as grand as the Imperial, but quite beautiful nonetheless.

Does anyone know which Hilton is a closer walk to kosher food and shuls?

The Hilton Vienna or the Hilton Vienna plaza?

Also, how many kosher places are there to eat at?

These are with a good hechser

Alef Alef      Meat
Kosher Bakery     Bakery
Novellino       Dairy
Pension lich...    Hotel (old)
There might be another one or two places.

And the Hilton Vienna is around a 15-20 minute walk from kosher places.

I will be spending only 12 hours in VIE, so dont have a whole lot of time...

I just need to know how to get around from the airport to the Schonbrunn Palace and to a restaurant or two.

If anyone can help me with transportation (best way to get around) and make a recommendation where to eat, it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

I don't remember the exact transit number, but you should be able to do it with only 1 stop.
You can contact Schonbrunn for help.
(I'd advise paying for the whole entrance fee to see Schonbrunn. There's a lot going on there.)

We ate at novellino(milchigs) and was very good.
Also went to Alef Alef (fleishigs)-not a great food selection but was very fresh and pretty decent.
We stayed at the Bristol-got upgraded to the opera house suite. Very nice hotel, the suite was very big and nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Its more of an old style hotel, not the new modern funky type. used to be a castle years ago.
The schonbrun is good to visit, but if youve been to the palace of versaille in paris, this is a small scale copy.
Got a driver to the cemetary near vienna and to chasam sofer for 100 euro round trip.
The trains are very easy to use and very convenient.

When I went to Vienna we took a boat to Bratislava (where the chasam sofer is buried)
Was a buitifull boat ride and not expensive if I recall (besides for buying drinks in the boat)
And if you don't want to take boat both ways there's also busses...
We also slepped over a night there... It's a very nice city with castles and nice city tour !

In Vienna we also went couple times to the Prata (park- it's a stop on the subway )
It's fun to go around  there if you have time to waste... It's small rides , 3d IMAX, works biggest Ferris wheel (at one point I think) games etc..

There's also a BIG shopping district.. I think called shvedenplatz.. Has brand name stores and reg (and Zara ,h&m) you can get horse and buggy rides there, and see the famous opera house there (though never went inside myself)

And for those who have a thing for great views there is the Danube tower... Tallest tower there with amazing views (and bungi jumping!) but no easy way to get there that I know of...
