One.com isn't a small company @ all, I've been using them a long time already.
Godaddy is a disaster in navigating within their backoffice, agreed, however, its just setting things initially which is a headache, but they have an excellent customer service for that.
Once you use them, you just use phpmyadmin and an ftp program.
They are slow, hence I told you to ask for the new grid.
A couple of thousand hits a day is a joke for a server, and some scripts must be doing some unneeded loops or so.
I'm responsible for a bunch of sites, also with much heavier traffic with streaming audio and video.
A quick question: do you keep on updating/upgrading the forum to newer versions, dragging along the old mods, or do you just keep the data, and install new version from scratch?
If you don't start every now and then from scratch, well then you will be running into more problems soon.
Do as you like, just know that I've had forums in the past with more members (on one.com), and it worked like a charm.
