New Forum Layout: Love It Or Hate It?

Regarding editing a post, aside from the advantages of being able to edit, there is the problem that when someone says something, they can always go back and say they never said it, which makes all the posts less reliable.

And of course there are posts that the mods edit which should not be edit'able.

I saw something like that happen on FT and someone actually fishe up the original from google cache.
on a separate note, I don't mind the size just get rid of the empty space around the posts.

 yea but since I just Quoted your post even if you go back and remove something it wont be removed from my post where I Quoted you

 as in anything theres always Pros & Cons to an issue, my main concern was spelling and grammar and all too often I didnt post what I meant to so Id like to beable to go back in and make sense of it to those who might want to read it

 Im not 100% sure but I believe a Mod on FT has a way to look at what a person posted after that person Edited their post to see what originally they wrote. At least I remember a few times a person saying I never Personally attacked that other person and a Mod said they were able to see the original post, dont know if they were making it up or not

True, as you can see I just edited the post.

When you send an email, you can't go back and edit it, you gotta use spell check the first time. Why should this be any different?

How about the ability to append an existing post by adding more info if you made a mistake.

I think 180 minutes is sufficient time to correct grammar mistakes.

I think on FT there is a little comment added on the bottom of the post with a message if the post was edited and a date. I think you can also add in a reason.
This way you can see if someone edited a post and might be fixing something.... or hiding something....

 you are assuming that the poster will go back and check each and every post they make before moving on, well I for 1 dont do that most times as my posts on here and FT confirm (I say FT cause till I read some I made over I dont realize how bad it is , but once I see it I do edit it).

 I dont use Spell check even on my emails and when someone replys to some of them and I reread what I wrote Ill admitt I too at times have a hard time understanding what the hay I was trying to say

 and since this is dans baby and it seems it likes the 180 min rule I guess it will stay that way, and my posts will simply live-on as is

I just want to voice my opinion again: I don't know if anyone else agrees (if you do, please let us know!) But the new layout on opera min on a bb, makes it SO much harder to view threads, posts etc. There is SO much more scrolling necessary. I would love it if there was a way I could still view the forum in the old format

i have no problem reading the posts, its clicking on the smaller "Show unread posts since last visit." which is a problem for me

I tried both. I like the full version a lot better. Maybe I just don't notice any problems. Also I haven't been doing it live with this thread... Last time I did was the morning and both were good.

I'm not sure if this is with other links, but the links in "Master thread of master threads" don't seem to work.

There seems to be a HR missing in the list of threads every once in a while.

My visitors mentioned they saw you but did not mention the wiki. Dan asked me about it. I've been quite busy the last few days and haven't had time to look into it, but if a wiki is what the "oilam" wants, then a wiki it'll be. Maybe we'll get together one of these days in BarBurger and discuss it.
