Aeroflot to Israel
« on: September 08, 2013, 02:30:22 PM »
Has anyone ever flown with them? they currently have tickets TLV-NYC for the winter for $759, I see that they are a Sky Team member and they fly the A-330 on this route.
Any experience?

Why not make the title "Aeroflot from Israel"?

If you have a stopover of 12 hours, can you go into Moscow without a visa tour a little & return to the airport a little before the flight?

Worst airline!!!!!
I flew with them once from nyc to kiev. On the way home they said that the flight is probably cancelled.  No definite answer and we should just go find a new airline. This happened for absolutely no reason and we received no reimbursement.  There was also nobody to talk to in the airport

I just took them to Kiev via svo.
The Jfk-svo flight was very nice, shockingly. New plane. The svo-Kiev flight was just OK.
I would say decent airline.

I returned on Ukrainian. Now THAT, is the worst airline.
Always use an Amex, you'll thank me one day.

I flew with them this past summer from tlv-svo-jfk rt. I had pretty smooth and good experience. Planes were very nice, great entertainment. Love the stewardesses outfits!! Although it didn't look like they gave ice in the drinks. I brought my own frozen drinks so didn't need theirs. I had a 9 hr stopover which was pretty rough. I knew I'd have that stopover being that I booked 2 weeks b4 flight, that was the cheapest flight. Having only an American passport, I was NOT allowed to leave the airport without a visa, which cost $150!!! If u stay in the airport, make sure u have access to a lounge cause otherwise ull go nuts!! U won't be able to sleep cause all the chairs in the airport have side arms and u can't lay down. Both times during the stopover I had a minyan for shachris in the airport. Israeli passports are allowed to go into Moscow for FREE.
Overall rating B+

Not that long, a couple weeks is fine. You used to be able to do it by mail but not anymore

I've done dangerous things in my life.. But I wouldn't put my life in the hands of the Russian police!

I did not leave intentionally illegally, it was an honest mistake together with terrible security. The getting back in was where I had to sneak in
