Auto Insurance
« on: August 06, 2010, 10:58:46 AM »
Specifically, does anyone here have experience on how to get the insurance to payout to you the actual value of your car when they deem it totalled? (It may be they will be able to recoup from the other party's insurance the full amount, but not definite)  It seems that it is common practice for them to lowball you the value of your car and you have to go to bat and "prove" the value.  I know you start with nada, and kbb, but does anyone here have more experience on the process?

Not sure how it works when the car is totaled, but when there is an accident in general, it's better to take it to a body shop you know and trust vs. their place and they have to send their own adjuster to your place and the two argue a bit.. and you'll usually come out with more that way.

If I fill out an accident report (I think MV-14) to file an insurance claim (on a rental car), will it end up on my driving record?
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Yes.
Ouch. I have a clean record, and can't afford that. If I submit the form to the rental company, they'll submit it to the DMV in order to be able to process the claim with the credit card (CSP)?

I dunno. First thing that came up when I searched Auto Insurance. I knew there was something wrong with there being only 2 posts in it.
