I have a personal and business spg cards with 2 separate spg account numbers. Is there a benefit of having / keeping 2 spg numbers ? Can I and should I combine them to 1 account ?

I don't believe it is associated with just an SPG number, could be they are looking at your SS#.

Then how would anyone get the bonus twice? Luck?

It used to be a viable option. Now it is a possible YMMV, but more likely you will not get it unless you wait 12 months from closing the card.

I believe you would qualify twice, someone CMMIW.

Combining accounts would be beneficial if you need a lot of points to book something or to transfer.
