Bob's discount furniture/ MyBobs - Experiences

Looking for peoples experience with Bob's furniture. [ http://www.mybobs.com/ ]

They seem to have bedroom sets, dinette sets, dining room, and even mattress at no haggling pretty attractive prices and nice designs.

Any reason not to shop there? Anyone have their stuff?

Got this bedroom set there (2 night tables, dresser with mirror and chest of drawers) when I got married. Pretty low quality, you get what you pay for. None of the drawers on any of the pieces are held up by tracks on each side, rather the junkier bottom track. Some of them are at least partially broken. Not impressed overall, but it got (and continues to get) the job done on the cheap.

I bought an entertainment center there around 2 years ago. It has help up well and gets a lot of compliments. I was also fearful of buying from there but this piece has help up well.

Big fan of Ikea. Especially since all it usually takes to build is a screwdriver and an allen wrench.

We do have a chest of drawers from Ikea that's significantly older and I would say it's built significantly better, though I don't know if it was more expensive or not.

I have a dresser/mirror from them (new castle line, they dont have it in bedroom stuff anymore at least on their website) I'm very happy with it. Yes its a bit on the cheap side wood quality wise but its holding up really well. The drawers on mine are all on very smooth side tracks I guess it depends which line/model you buy. Dunno about their couches e.t.c but if its anything like their mattresses run the other way. Maybe check out raymore and flannigan clearance center they have one in monsey and one near passaic

Bob builds it for you. Nothing more annoying than building an Ikea product for a couple hours.

My brother-in-law has gotten like 3 couches out of the warranty, so I guess YMMV.

I went there to look at stuff. Everything felt like it was about to fall apart. I guess it's good if you need to stage a house on the cheap but otherwise don't expect their products to last

+1, you gotta be really specific with them, however the warranty company (guardsman) now has a different insurer and they have made some changes to hopefully improve customer service.  I work with people involved in the pricing and they said that when they saw guardsman's claims they had something like a 95% decline rate.

I had a bad experience with the warranty at Bob's, they did all they can to disqualify my couch from repair. It was bad after 1 week. Each must have their own stories with them, some people are really happy but I sadly am not.

Their prices seem to be flexible (i.e. Salespeople can discount it on the spot), any recommendations on how to negotiate/get the best price?

Maybe search for a comparable couch online at a better price. Use that to try and get them down. If they don't offer free delivery, try and get it, or at least reduced.

I've had two dining room chairs break and they replaced them no problem because we had goof proof.
