I just called up Google and they told me that nexus 4 is only 3g and not 4g did anyone else realize that?
FWIU, it should support HSPA+, which i believe is called 4g. Officially it doesn't support LTE, since it was never approved for that by the FCC. Nevertheless, the radio technically supports it, and that's why you can enable it if you have the right radio firmware.

I never had a Nexus 4; what I mentioned above is just from what I read. Like I said above, I'm not sure why you can't get HSPA+, I've never heard of an N4 that couldn't out of the box.

What [exactly] do I need to buy in order to connect my nexus to the laptop? Meaning, I want to be able to display and do things on my laptop, which I would normally do on the phone. I guess IOW it's mirroring from nexus 4 to laptop...
TIA

I don't get it... It doesn't need to be connected via ANY wires? It's like a "team viewer" type of app?

I'm going to look into it again later, but it sounded like it needs to be connected by USB.

Can you update me once you've tried it out?

Team Viewer Quick Support should work, some phones need to be rooted for it to work, check the description.

I got it to work on an old Droid 2. This program just controls the phone; it downloads another program, Droid@Screen, to mirror the screen. I couldn't get it to work on my S3, however, I think that's due to driver issues, since I can't connect to it at all thru USB. I'm still working on that.

I updated the Samsung drivers and got it to work on the S3 also. The program looks pretty good.

Team Viewer takes a lot of battery - I wonder if this program does the same...

The easiest way is to connect it with USB to the computer. You'll need to have USB debugging enabled. If you don't want to physically connect it, you can try setting up ADB over network.

Please HELP!!
The update button wouldn't go away unless I updated my android.
I clicked update and now this new version, lollipop, is driving me nuts!!
It's extremely buggy!! Everything I use frequently, like Gmail, does not work!
Plus, the battery drains within an hour and the machine gets SO HOT i feel like it's going to go on fire in my pants!

Please advise??!

Any way to go back to the previous version? THis one stinks! I can't use my phone - at all.
AND IT RESTARTS like 5 times a day - randomly!

TIA

P.S. please no references to "liar liar pants on fire :)  "

There are a couple of things to try:

1) Wipe the cache partition. Your data will be safe and it takes only a few moments to do.

2) If the problems remain, back up your data and do a factory reset. This will erase all of your data and apps, most or all of which should restore after the reset. You should be sure to back up anything important that you can't redownload. This option will reset your phone to a stock version of Lollipop, and I'd suggest trying it out for a few days to see if the problems go away.

3) If all else fails, you can flash the factory images for Android 4.4 and go back to the previous version. I won't link them here, but I'll write up some instructions if you decide to go that route.

This is so frustrating.. I tried the 1st step... didn't work. I am trying to do the 2nd step of backing everything up but when I connect the nexus 4 to my computer via usb, the laptop doesn't recognize it. I am VERY sure it's the nexus because it keeps beeping saying it's charging and doesn't let me do anything else.

Next step?

Is there a way to revert back to the previous update without losing any data?

This should help you backup your files on your computer. Just make sure that your phone and computer are connected to the same network.

This doesn't help bc the dumb upgrade keeps disabling my WIFI. Every time I put it back on, 3 minutes later it's off. I honestly don't know why my phone not working bc of the upgrade. I've never seen something so buggy before.
