US Airways LGA-PHL-TLV
« on: September 15, 2013, 12:15:43 PM »
Has anyone ever flown to Israel from NY this way? It seems it would be easier to not have to go through customs in JFK or EWR on the way back. Also, you wouldn't have to stop somewhere in Europe and would just have to go on the short flight from PHL-LGA.

I recently took this route (on an award ticket)

not terrible flight & service ok,

you need to check in at he us airways counter in LGA,[gotta show passports] IMO this might be an issue if they are crowded, also give yourself enough time to make the connection in PHL [my flight from lga to phl was delayed an  few hours ]

as it is an international flight you need to clear security in both airports,

Cant comment on the return flight and poing through customs on the way back

My flight with the glitch only has a 50 minutes stop in PHL. Is it too short?

And do I have to pick up my bags in PHL? I assume not.

Since it is your first stop in the US you would need to collect your bags.

I think he was talking about outbound.
Is the 50 min layover too short? What happens if you miss the connection and it's not direct to Israel?

Then you do not have to pick up your bags. They should be checked all the way through

I guess that is one disadvantage

You didn't wrote which way. I want this way to TLV and checked in LGA (took 5 minutes from when I got to the airport till I after check in) I didn't see my bags till TLV where a good friend of you took me from the airport.
Airlines sending me "We're in this together" emails.

Bruh, where were you when my suitcase weighed it 51.50 pounds?
