Picked up from new dougies on J yesterday. nice place, not huge but big enough. food is same as it ever was, great to have some wings, a blooming onion, onion rings etc. once in a while.

Crime is already down over there, housing is not cheap, plenty of people would rather live there vs EF.

so what are your taste reviews? Calabria is good?

After ordering and waiting 25 minutes for my warmed up pizza to find out they misplaced it and gave to another customer, I was not willing to hang around longer. Basil's is great!

They already starting behind with this beef with Basil, they can't afford to be mismanaged and disorganized as well...

it's worth another try, that sounds like the minority. Basil's is great, too -- but it's also a 25+ minute wait sometimes.

Basil succeeded like that.

1) Basil had really good food.
2) Basil was the first "hip" joint in a neighborhood that now has a bunch of those
3) Basil catered to a secular/non Jewish market as well as the frum market
4) Was Basil that disorganized or just slow?

This is a personal opinion, but I don't even like Basil's pizza.  I don't like fresh mozzarella, whether homemade or otherwise (think of the kind that comes as a ball in liquid). I like low moisture mozzarella which is what 99% of pizza shops are using (think of the kind that comes grated, or in a block).

Waiting 25 minutes for freshly made is not bad. Waiting 20 minutes for it to be reheated and then told it will be a minimum 10+ min to redo order after mess up is different.

Slow. Their place is not large, and most nights will have slowish service due to how popular it is. The open kitchen style behind the counter, can show how quickly they work but simply can't keep up with the demand.

Leibel's twitter post proves that it's not hasagas G'vul if there is so much business to go around that there are still 25+ minute waits for basic pizza in 2 places right across the street from each other.
Are there 20,000+  Jewish and Kosher residents in the neighborhood and including a 12 min driving distance? If so, then they can support 8-10 places like this. b'hatzlacha to all. May this help make the standards for good quality food and courteous service (remain) high and efficient.

I've waited 25+ minutes for simple dishes in empty restaurants. It doesn't prove anything...

Went to T Fusion last night for our granddaughter's Sheva Brochos. It was actually incredible. Served a salad, then small burgers in buns and chicken pieces with delicious sauces. An incredible pasta salad with fresh tomato sauce. The main was an incredible off the bone steak. Really delicious. Dessert fruit and churros. Going to this Bison and Bourbon (or something like that) tonight IYH. Heard that  place is good as well. First time going there.
