After some time, we went back to Café Renaissance tonight. My wife had the Renaissance fish (tilapia strips with veg and sauce) and I had the Asian tuna special. Both were out of site. That was after we tried to go to Tea for Two on Nostrand and now it says Mamilla. Anyone know what gives there?

Here are 2 reviews from awhile back
Had an incredible dining experience at The Loft last week. Made a reservation for 5 at 10pm and was promptly seated when we arrived. A waiter came to our table to take our coats for us. For an appetizer, I got spring rolls. It was great, full of meat and very flavorful. For the entrée, I ordered a pepper crust fillet with mashed potatoes. I can honestly say this was from the best steaks I have ever had (yes, better then La Marias’s pepper crusted steak). It was grilled to perfection! Over all I would rate this place 5/5. From food to service, this was a great dining experience. Would definitely recommend!
We ended up going to "The Loft" and we REALLY enjoyed the experience. Here is a quick review;

We were 7 people. I thought the ambiance was great, service was very good as well. We were seated quickly, knowledgeable and friendly waiter took our orders as soon as we were ready and overall felt we got just the right amount of attention while not too overbearing.

We ordered;
Appetizers-
Pulled Beef sliders x2 - These were very good, enjoyed all around 4.5*
Duck Gnocchi x2 - These were just ok, nothing major (especially when comparing to MB) 3*
Crispy Beef x2 - These were exceptional, Highly recommended! 5*
"Bomb Shell" Sushi Roll - VERY VERY good! Recommended as well! 5*

Main-
Braised Short ribs (x2) - Very good, (I split a portion which was just enough since it is heavy) 4.5*
Delmonico (x2) - I really loved this and highly recommend 5*
Extra sides of fries (reg and Sweet potato)
Fettuccine appetizer served as a main - this was just ok.

We also had some cocktails, Pina colada and Strawberry Daiquiris which were good.
We skipped dessert because we simply were too full to eat anything else and we were also in a bit of a rush. We did hear that the Napoleon's are supposed to be great.

Total bill for 7 people including 20% gratuity was ~$450 which I consider pretty decent for what we got.

Overall I would highly recommend "The Loft"

Funny you're asking because we just went again last night. My wife had a tongue salad appetizer, my son in law some beef appetizer, I had the pulled brisket appetizer, mains were pepper crusted fillet (very spicy), regular fillet mignon. Don't remember all the rest. Skipped dessert, except my daughter but don't remember which. Everything was excellent, staff pleasant to deal with, great ambience, and very expensive. I don't want you to think we go there every week. My kids came into NY and took us out.

Now that I see the other old reviews, it was crispy beef. I forgot the pina colada WITH strawberry. Wow. Very good.

As mentioned previously went to The Loft for dinner last night. I must say all the food was excellent and nobody left hungry. The desserts were ok, nothing special.
Since we all got there at different times it took a while for a waiter to finally come over, but once he did he was very helpful and the service was great. The owner and manager each came over at different times to see how everything was and to schmooze a bit, which was annoying when we wanted to enjoy our meal, but landed us strawberry daquiries on the house.

We were a party of 8 and ordered:

Appeteizers (they were out of duck tacos and corn dogs, but don't think we would've ordered those anyway) -
Beef Spring Rolls - More like a bigger version of a morrocan cigar, was not expecting the meat to be spiced like that, but if that's what you like these are for you)
Pulled Beef Sliders - Came with 3 sliders and frizzled onions and cole slaw on the side, cole slaw was a little spicy and excellent)
Chicken Lollypops - Ccame with I think 6 pieces in a really good sweet buffalo type sauce)
Tongue - Super soft and tasty, was really good on the bread that was provided with a little mustard)

Entrees -
I got the Blackened Rib Eye, which was cooked perfectly (medium), was nice and juicy with a little bit of fat and had a nice cajun rub on it to give it some spice, but not too much
Pepper Crusted Filet - Just what you would think it would be. Very lean piece of steak. Spicy
Skirt Steak (x2) - Again what you would expect, nice and tender, came with two decent size pieces, slightly salty.
Loft Chicken (x2) - Juicy chicken cutlets in a little sauce (I didn't taste it so can't tell you what kind of sauce) surrounded by potatoes and lots of vegetables.
Crispy Beef (appeteizer) - This was an excellent dish. Came with two pieces of beef, slightly crispy on the outside, but extremly soft and juicy on the inside. A nice version of a short rib type meat.
Last person got the Chicken Lollypopos and Pulled Beef Slider appeteizers (see above) as their main.

Desserts -
Chocolate Cake - Was ok but not what we expected. Was more of a chocolate mouse cake on a graham cracker crust with a strawberry sauce and some other fruit sauce with whipped cream and a spoon of vanilla ice cream
Napolean - I didn't taste this so can't comment on that, but was stacked high and came with fresh pineapple and orange slices.

Overall was excellent experience at an upscale steakhouse in the middle of BP.
Not sure how much the final bill was since I didn't pay  ;D

Sorry there are no pics, but I'm glad to answer anyone's questions.

Thanks for sharing, I was there 3-4 times and twice as a Shava Bruches, and whatever they served was amazing.

I love their chicken fingers (I think they have a fancier name for it) it's on their appetizer list, it's 12 dollars and a nice sized portion make sure to get their spicy mayo.

A lot of places in queens - sushi metsuyan and hapisga are good sit down types.  Cafe Elite is a nice dairy place on main street.  Otherwise there are the quick bite places like carlos and gabbys and grill point.
What's the "Hechsher" on Hapisga and Prime bistro?
