I find this shocking this place is in the middle of bp and no info here.
It is russian? style, I have never eaten there during the week, although I have been told by people who have that it is quite good.
Was there for a aufruf shobbos meal, which was served bucharian style, not my cup of tea.
Sorry, that's all the info I have.

There's a Chareidim Matzah Bakery (or was) on New Utrecht Avenue and 43rd street in boro park, if that helps

If that's their name they're still open. They'll sell to anyone who walks up ?

With the money they make on the matza I can't imagine that they wouldn't

Any kosher sports bars in Brooklyn?
Not exactly what you were asking, but half court sports bar has no kitchen and you can bring/order-in your own food.

Tried Orchidea last night. Food was pretty good, but the service was subpar.
We went from having hovering waiters who wouldn't leave us alone, to being unable to catch anyone's attention when we were ready to leave.
Also, the music was as annoying as annoying gets.

The sushi was good. Highlight for me was the sushi pizza and Godzilla roll.
My spinach and cheese ravioli was delicious, but way too heavy on the sauce.
Overall, worth it with the Groupon we had, but I doubt I would recommend it.

We have reservations for motsei Shabbos. Anyone else going to be there? DO?

Also, I see that the sushi and ravioli are recommended, and I remember that someone (Dan?) recommended the French onion soup. Anything else to get or to avoid? How about dessert?

Thanks.

Quick report:
We enjoyed last night.
The French onion soup is 10/10. Loved reading melted cheese over the crusty bread that did not get too soggy. And they only charge $7 for the tureen? Bargain!

They bread they served us was also good.

The California rolls were good but nothing special.

We also had Godzilla roll (sorry no pic) and sushi pizza. I would say the Godzilla roll is 7/10 and the pizza 6/10. Problem might have been we were kind of full after the soup alone.

I found it a little weird that they include the gratuity -- only two of us dining. And they didn't mention it and seemed to expect an additional gratuity? Maybe that is standard operating procedure in NYC these days...I don't get out too often.

All in all, recommend the place. Nice atmosphere. If one could just order soup, the place would be a bargain. I just don't know if they would frown on that, as it is a "fine dining" establishment.
