Fwiu loft
Ate there last week for the first time. Probably the most overrated and expensive place around. Family of 6.
Had BBQ beef tacos which were decent but way overpriced at $17 for 3. Pulled beef sliders ($16 for 3) which were just mush. Chicken lollipops were basically a quarter of a drumstick deep fried. Nearly broke a tooth on them. Tasteless. Bland.
For main's we had the Surprise Cut ($66) which was more fat than meat. Hanger steaks which were basically Le Marais steak fries and salad type steaks at 3 times the price. Fries were decent. Sauteed garlic spinach tasted like dirt.
Desserts we shared the marshmallow thingy (See it left a great impression) and the chocolate souffle and ice cream which was just the frozen souffle reheated to complete dryness.

All in all a mediocre meal at best. $490 tab was not nearly justified. At $80 per person (only 5 entrees) any other steak house would have been better.

So whats the consensus, Which upper class meat restaurant in Brooklyn has the best food?
T-fusion IMHO
Always impressed with the food (little disappointed last time I was there, the Ribs appetizer used to come with 3 bones now there was only 2. A downgrade if your gonna charge the same price)

It was too big until now. Was a crazy value and stuffed you, so you didn't order more.

Its a $28 appetizer, meant for 2 people at least. Downgrading the portion and keeping the price the same, in my eyes thats unfair. And I ordered plenty just really enjoyed it and was enough to share with DW.

The entire food industry does this. This is how things work and people expect it. It's the same as going up and keeping it the same.

I'm not a high end restaurant guy. Last one i considered good was Fuego in Miami. That was good and reasonably priced considering. Loft is just overpriced mediocre food. Le Marais has always done it for me. Steak need not be so complicated and expensive as the higher end places make it. Was never impressed by Prime. And cant fathom what you can eat at Reserve that would justify the pricing...and dont tell me the location justifies it.

And a quarter ot a drumstick for you henche is what you get at Rami's when you order chicken nuggets and get a bone in one of them.

You can't look at prices when going to high end restaurants. It's always a rip off. Just judge the food.

When youre high end you should serve high end food to at least justify some of the pricing. Not second rate overcooked, poorly presented, excuse for high end food. Im no foodie, but i know my steak.

Finally made it to MainHouse BBQ and was terribly disappointed by their food. The ambiance and service was excellent but the food was just blah (compared to Izzy's, Graze, or anywhere else for that case). It was presented beautifully, but tasted mediocre.

We had:
"Homemade Blueberry lemonade" sounded delicious but tasted like Simply Lemonade brand.
Brisket main (we chose lean), was lean with a layer of fat at the edge. Wasn't juicy enough for my palate. The slaw and pickles were okay.
Special of Trio sliders: we chose sloppy yosef, turkey and pastrami. Sloppy yosef was best, then turkey, then pastrami. All three had too much sauce to taste the meat.
For sides, we had schmaltzy mashed potatoes, veg. medley, and corn bread. No wow moment for any of those.
The wheat beer they had on tap was superb!

Everything was okay, better than Hermolis economy KSML, but that's about it.

Overall a very nice experience, but not for foodies.

If you order lean brisket, you deserve to get lean brisket. I went recently and, while I wasn't blown away, I thought it was pretty solid.  Their burnt ends are fantastic.
Graze shouldn't even be in this equation. It's faux smoked meat at best.
