What would be the from the top restaurants in Brooklyn? Looking specifically for unique, not a classic steakhouse. Similar to what Pardes was I guess, or hibachi, or Izzy's.

Nothing similar to Pardes. That is dead and we are still mourning.

If you go for dairy- try La Cambio.

I actually was asking the same question a few weeks ago... I haven't found anything to match Pardes's style or caliber- If you do I'd love to know!

Hibachi in Brooklyn is called Kasai.  I have not been there, but have heard many solid reviews.

Nothing is like Pardes.  But the Loft in universally loved and held in great esteem.  T-Fusion and Bordeaux seem to have quite a following as well.

The food at Bison and Bourbon is hit and miss - but the ambiance is very unique.

Went to a new cafe(?) called Bubble bam today. On kings highway off the corner of east 8th. The food was excellent. My wife and I split a bubble waffle that had strawberries inside of it as well as pistachio ice cream, candied pecans, cinnamon and honey on top. There are a ton of different options to put into the waffles but we just went with one of the suggested options (we just swiped out bananas for strawberries). We also split a grilled vegetable panini that was great.

We then tried the bubble tea which is tea with tapioca flavored pearls in them. You pick a type of tea (black, green or white) as well as a flavor and what type of pearls. While I didnt think it was bad, I didn't get the hype. Maybe I got the wrong flavor. Definitely worth checking out to try something new! Hecsher is the Vaad of Flatbush .

Wolf and Lamb Brooklyn mini review:

Braised Belly was great, like a melt in your mouth pastrami.
Slider Trio was ok, sorely lacking in sauces and flavor.
Duck Prosciutto and Beef Pizza were pretty good, though neither is close to the Pardes version, or even Boeuf and Bun's pastrami flat bread.
I forget the name, but there was a dish with a soft boiled egg on top of deep fried ground beef on top of a pesto sauce. Interesting, but the ground beef could have used some more flavor.

Of the hangar, chef's reserve, and cast iron steaks I tried, the cast iron was the best. Cooked to perfect medium rare with a bit of a "crispy" seared edge that added an extra succulent taste.

Service was disappointing. Starters were not all served at once, water glasses almost never refilled until we were able to track someone down to ask, and our mains were served before we were given forks and knives. It only was an extra minute of waiting, but it was strange.

All in all, while nothing was bad per se, there were only a couple of dishes I felt were really good and befitting the price and class of restaurant they bill themselves as.

7/10

When? They've been closed since the 9 days, don't accept online orders, and phone goes to vm now.
