i heard from a few people that Bordeaux really stepped up their game, can anyone else confirm this

Not sure, but for a lot less $$$ Sophie's bistro next door has really good food (Service and ambiance are very much... not.)
If you go, ask for a Moshe steak (Really big rib, not on menu), and lamb chops. Other food is pretty good as well.
They have BBQ on Thursdays sometimes as well.
Also open till really late.

It's been around forever.
There is a milchick place attached as well, never been though.

Sophie still runs the place with her husband.

Helping a friend who's dating...Is Basil in Crown Heights a good choice for a date? or is it very casual? In terms of ambiance is it similar to My Most Favorite in the city? Is it usually VERY full at about 8pm? Should they make a reservation?

I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Can be uncomfortably crowded.

Seems to be not that great for a date...Thanks! I think they'll go to Tiberias in the city. My understanding is there's less of bustle there? (Noi due seems quite busy as well). Any recommendation from the menu?
