I wonder if ppl here are just speculating.....

Deri Lulavim are grown in Israel. This is a fact.

Although Egypt for the most part, stopped exporting Lulavim, some still has made it across the border. The export from El Arish in Egypt has been drastically reduced so that the Lulav shortage is REAL.

However, there are Lualvim exported from Spain for the past ten years or so. This has supplemented the shortage from Egypt.

I dont think there is a 'shortage announcement' every year.....

The last time they had one was about 5-7 years ago and it was real. Noone will fall for a 'fake' shortage bec they will just go to a local seller and see the piles of boxes.....

While in past years many lulavim were imported to Eretz Yisrael from Egypt, the experts are reporting this will not be necessary this year as there are 700,000 locally grown lulavim available.

How do you  know they're really from Israel?
I'm not denying it,  I just think it's hilarious that people here are quoting YWN,  VIN,  and their local shook merchant.
