Having 10 people (and growing) waiting for a minyan to start but no-one is willing to go to the Omud. The reward for this ends up being that someone comes and gladly goes to the Omud and has a combination of all the annoyances possible (mentioned in this thread and elsewhere) for a Shliach Tzibbur.
but not a single person there has a right to complain. Someone who is unwilling to go himself can't complain about the one who did. That is one of my pet peeves.
Exactly. That is why I called it a REWARD.
And while on the topic, I will quote a poem that my uncle made up when he ended serving his 11 month sentence, which he shared with me at the onset of mine:You're too fast,You're too slow,You're too loud,You're too low!
that is a big advantage of davening in a minyan where there is a Rov or where there is a set pace
Overrated.
I find it helps a lot. Can still get complaints but once I answer that I kept to the times the Rov set there is not much more they can say.
Set paces. - Another pet peeve. You can have a set pace. Sometimes it's just ridiculous. 17 ppl in the minyan late at night shouldn't be the same pace as 150 ppl at 9pm
why does the number of people make a difference?
If 90% are ready for kaddish it's a tircha detziburah to wait for two guys
Why there is no thread about what people find pleasant. The reason I didn't make one is because I cant find a word like pet peave to use. "Master Thread of Things People Find Pleasant"?
