When flying on a morning flight and the person next to the window has the shades open. Or any time of the day really. Though only in the morning it's my pet peeve.
Then take the window seat.  :P

Of course! How often do you have to fly to no longer be enthralled with takeoff and landing?
If you don't care why would you comment?

Set paces. - Another pet peeve.

You can have a set pace. Sometimes it's just ridiculous.
17 ppl in the minyan late at night shouldn't be the same pace as 150 ppl at 9pm
When you go to a new shul and you sat down on someones place and that guy stares you up and down the whole davening >:(

but not a single person there has a right to complain. Someone who is unwilling to go himself can't complain about the one who did. That is one of my pet peeves.

set it on vibrate. There are situations where a ringing cell phone is inapproriate.

set it on vibrate.
How is that going to help when it is in their purse, coat pocket or somewhere else?

If you're expecting an important call, keep it in your pocket, or wear your purse and you'll feel it vibrate
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

There are still situations in which a phone ringing loudly is inappropriate. Someone who enters such a place should act accordingly. Someone who is hard of hearing should not have a conversation in a library.

If they are hard if hearing, chances are they wont hear whoever is on the phone anyway  ;)

Why office phones don't come with a piece that only vibrates on your shirt when it rings.

@ayagart, if indeed you still have nine months for the amud, you've ain't seen anything yet. I seriously wish you good luck. I went through this not long ago and times came when I felt I just couldn't take it anymore.

What was really annoying was how my sisters were telling me how I'm so lucky that I can do something for my father and they wish they can also do something for his neshama...  ::) They just had to take me for my word.

At the time I wanted to open a dedicated thread to the amud in the 11 months, (a pet peeve thread just doesn't do it justice...) but imho it's a potential for something extremely annoying when those who haven't gone through this will add in their .02. People can simply not perceive it if they didn't live it. But if you do open such a thread I've got a lot to add.

May it be a true aliya for the neshama.

1. To quote a friend: don't think you did anything for your father, it is just a well deserved punishment for you.

2. Time for an Omud graduates DO?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!
