Here's one I despise. When people write the letter Y instead of the word why. For example ' y not? ' It's not just atrocious, it's matrocious. When I get a text like that I don't answer it. Unless it's a matter of life and death. Or very important (to me).

I don't mind it so much in text messages where people are limited in space (I'm also guilty of trying to cram as much as possible into the constraints of 160 characters) but when people do it on the forum it's annoying.

I agree that the second way is a more clear and direct way of talking, but I'm not hearing how the first way is wrong/improper.

It may be backwards but it's still grammatically correct. Like "up with which I will not put."

I understand the guys who feel the need to say "Yaale V'Yavo" out loud during shmona esrei, but is it really necessary for the same guys to say "Yom Rosh Hachodesh hazeh" even louder? I mean, I might forget its rosh chodesh, but I'm not gonna think it's Sukkos...
